Ale Hop is the alter ego of Peruvian, Berlin-based musician, artist and researcher Alejandra Cárdenas Pacheco. She played in several bands in Lima's underground scene in the 2000s, before focusing on her solo work as a composing guitarist starting in 2012. Ale Hop is characterised by a combination of electric guitar and digital effects, which creates raw and physically intense bursts of sound. She has collaborated with KMRU and Laura Robles (as the duo Agua Dulce), among others, and has created installations and soundtracks. A live concert by Ale Hop is virtuoso and bursting with energy, sometimes scorching loud, other times soft and tingling.
